"Big" Video games developped for Linux platforms

This page aims to list games developped with a high budget for Linux system(s), which is quite rare. Most big-budget games are natively (i.e. since the inception of the project) developped only for Microsoft Windows. And even, only a few are developed or ported to Macintosh OS.

As commercial products versus voluntary projects (often by open-source volunteers), these products look professional and above all elaborate & accomplished. Despite a cliché, developping a software is definitively a complex task that requires time and skills, so money.

Pattern : Name of the game (year of release), genres, by developper / editor (+ for other systems than Linux). <Official webpage>.
